Nick Okorocha’s passion for criminal defense stems from his having to deal with police harassment and racial profiling while growing up, which opened his eyes to an issue that seriously needed to be addressed. It left him with a desire to inform young people about their rights, and to assist people who have been mistreated by law enforcement or profiled in a manner similar to what he went through.
Because of Nick’s experiences growing up he can relate to what his clients go through when police actions are improper, and Nick is glad to have the opportunity to ensure that people's rights are not disregarded. Nick believes that there is a presumption in society that people charged with crimes are criminals, rather than the proper presumption of innocence that the law calls for. And due to this misconception, Nick Okorocha finds himself explaining the distinction that he is not defending criminals, but rather defending people charged with crimes.
